The Delaware Ave Extension Trail section has been separated into three sections, Phase 1a, Phase 1b and Phase 2.

Phase 1a

This phase was completed in March of 2016.

The trail section extends the existing 1.5 mile Port Richmond Trail  by a .6-mile section of roadway, including a bridge over the Frankford Creek and an continuation of a multi-use trail stretching from Lewis Street to Orthodox Street. It connects Port Richmond to Bridesburg, and provides a direct route to the industries situated north of Lewis Street, relieving the Bridesburg community from large truck traffic on their neighborhood streets.

Phase 1b

This phase will run from Orthodox St to Buckius St. Currently in design, construction is scheduled to begin in 2020

Phase 2

This phase will run from Buckius St to the Frankford Arsenal Boat Launch.  This section will begin construction in 2020.
