The NEW Riverfront Park In Bridesburg – Design Event: November 18th

We are excited to announce that we are holding an event on Saturday November 18th at 11am, celebrating DRCC’s announcement of the final design for the NEW Riverfront Park in Bridesburg. The event will take place at the site of the future park (Delaware Ave at the intersection of Orthodox Street).

The 10-acre park will be designed by Langan mostly for passive use with a focus on ecological restoration. The design project is being funded by the William Penn Foundation and the City of Philadelphia, and will be managed by the City of Philadelphia in partnership with the Delaware River City Corporation. The trailhead park will connect directly with the existing Port Richmond Trail and Delaware Avenue Extension to the south, and in the future, will connect to the existing Kensington & Tacony Trail to the north. We are proud to welcome the following speakers at the event to help us celebrate this milestone accomplishment:

Robert A. Borski – Chairman of the Board, DRCC

Bobby Henon – Councilman, Philadelphia’s 6th District

Kathryn Ott Lovell – Commissioner, Philadelphia Parks and Recreation

Shawn McCaney – Executive Director, William Penn Foundation

Joseph Slabinski – President, Bridesburg Business Alliance

John Taylor – Pennsylvania State Representative

Mike Driscoll – Pennsylvania State Representative

All community members are welcome and encouraged to attend the event. The event is rain or shine. We look forward to seeing you there on the 18th!
