Reconnecting communities

Philadelphia’s industrial might and its location along the Delaware River catapulted it to international renown as the “Workshop of the World.” The river provided water and food for residents, transportation for industry, and was used for recreation, but worsening pollution and extensive industrial development cut the river off from people. As part of the East Coast Greenway, the North Delaware Riverfront Greenway is reconnecting local communities with the Delaware River.

Get Involved

Community involvement is essential to building the North Delaware Greenway and the larger projects it is part of. The DRCC and its partners offer many opportunities for you to get involved, through volunteer work days, river walks and park tours, submitting media, or contributing your skills to daily operation.
