We had a very successful groundbreaking yesterday. Speakers at the event included US Rep. Allyson Schwartz, Deputy Mayor Michael DeBerardinis, State Senator Michael Stack, State Rep. John Taylor, Lisa Deeley representing Councilman Bobby Henon, Deputy Secretary John Giordano of the PA Department of Conservation & Natural Resources, Jamie McDermott of Philadelphia Regional Port Authority, Paul King, President of the Pennsylvania Environmental Council and Andy Hamilton of the East Coast Greenway.
The contractor, Scott Construction, will start work in November and the project should be completed by this time next year.
