May 13th- 20th was Philadelphia’s #LOVEYOURPARK week and we celebrated in a big way! Even though our first park cleanup was rained out of Pleasant Hill Park, we managed to pack the week with plenty of other park activities.
MONDAY - We celebrated a ribbon cutting on Phase One of the K&T Trail. Commissioner Kathryn Ott Lovell, Councilman Bobby Henon, State Senator John Sabatina, and other special guests joined members of the community last week at Frankford Boat Launch to cut the ribbon on the new 1.15 mile trail. It is now open for the public to enjoy! Stay tuned for updates on when construction for Phase 2 will begin connecting the Greenway up to Tacony Boat Launch.
WEDNESDAY - We joined our Friends from Philadelphia Parks Alliance for a fun night of Quizzo about the Parks at Maggie’s On the Waterfront, right near Pleasant Hill Park.
THURSDAY - We held our 7th annual Spring Fling Fundraiser at Glen Foerd on the Delaware. We enjoyed a night of food and fun along with our sponsors and awardees.
SATURDAY - To round out #LOVEYOURPARK week, we held a cleanup in Lardner’s Point Park with dozens of volunteers, finishing up the last of our spring cleaning, just in time for the start of summer!
